This country of mine has produced some great talent but in an ironic twist of fate, it turns out one of our brightest lights is an expat.
Lily Morgan is one such ray of brilliant sunshine. Admit it, you’re smiling right now, aren’t you?
If you’re interested in smiling ’til it hurts or if she owes you money, you can find Lily at Lily in Canada and if you share her passion for all things animated check out Kidz Showz, where Lily, Tim of Mooselicker fame and Emily of The Waiting write about all the childhood shows they love. Incidentally, Kidzshowz loves guest bloggers, so wrangle your inner child and pump out a guest post for these folks if you can.
But back to the First Annual Lily Morgan Lovefest; she is the girl next door (but not the Elisha Cuthbert ex-porn star version), but with a sassy twist. She is radiance personified. She is positivity embodied. She is paying me to write this.
Kidding!
Simply put, she’s great. Consider this my early Christmas gift to all of you. (Yes, I’m a cheap bugger, but in my defense, its been a bad year for the bellman biz.)
But before we begin, click on the image below, read this piece by Lily and revel in her brilliance.
1) You’ve made my home and native land your headquarters, but is there anywhere else on this great spinning orb we call Earth that you’d like to call home, if only for a little while?
This great spinning orb has offered me a lot of crash pads, but I think my absolute favorites have been my hometown in Chicago suburbia, Canterbury, U.K., and Disney World. The happiest place on Earth should be everyone’s second home…or third home.
2) Jeans, or denim in general, yay or nay?
I know how you Canadians feel about your denim. I’ve definitely become a fan. I think you might even catch me sporting a Canadian tuxedo come spring time.
3) You’re the coolest cartoon gal since Jessica Rabbit, which cartoons still make you feel like a kid perched in front of the tube in your jammies while downing a giant bowl of cereal?
Oh man, I feel like I’ve been a cartoon girl stuck in this human world since a very young age. I used to be (and still am) a fan of every Disney animated feature, but I also love the idea of being a super hero (old school X-Men cartoons were a favorite of mine and my brother). The animated version of The Grinch is one of my favorite holiday-themed cartoons! That one definitely takes me back!
4) This feature exists to lift people’s spirits. What makes Sad Lily perk up and become the Happy Lily we all know and love again?
Money. Haha just kidding. (But seriously…) Sad Lily is never sad for very long. Usually a good buffet will do the trick. Or pizza. And sunshine. And maybe some bad reality TV.
I like how the things that make me feel better are the things that make people want to curl up and die. Maybe I’m mistaking hunger for sadness?
(Nah, you’re just being you.)
5) If you could be any celebrity for a day, who would you be?
Even though she’s not technically a celebrity, I would like to be Kim Kardashian for a day. I just want to know what it feels like to have a padded seat no matter where you go.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
And on that note, my friends, I’m going to wrap up another potent shot of positivity. My thanks to Lily for sprucing up my little corner of the web. Take care, and remember to take a little “Me Time” and embrace that inner child, grab a giant bowl of cereal and veg out in front of some old school cartoons for a while.
Be well.
My thanks to the always chipper Lily Morgan for pitching in and making this holiday season extra cool. She rocks and so do all of you.
Now get commenting, kids!
Thanks so much for the lovely words! I really felt like a celebrity when I woke up! So glad and honored to be a part of this! 😀
ahh you’ve brought a smile to my face— Lily is by far one of my favorite bloggers. Quite a lovely gal too 🙂
Merry Christmas to you and yours Mr. Hook
Yay! Thanks Audra! Glad it made you smile! Thanks for being a great friend to my mom and I. You are a gem!
I am smiling……thank you.
Thank you! Glad you are smiling! 😀
Lily is such a babe.
Lol YOU are a babe miss Katie-pie.
Lily is awesome-sauce, although she still owes me a “things I love about Canada” post.
Happy Christmas, Hook and Lily!
Aw shucks, thanks! I KNOW! I’m going to write it right now. Seriously, I’m gonna do it.
Thanks Ross! Happy Xmas!
I really appreciate this ray of sunshine on a day when I am confined to bed, sick with a bad flu the kids at my preschool gifted me with for Christmas…. So my clogged head thanks you for the smile. 🙂
Based on how you described having a cushion, I think I would want to be Kim for the day too.
Merry holidays,
Lindsey
Thank you Lindsey! Being confined to bed is my ultimate dream! But I know it drives most people crazy. I hope you get better soon! Being Kim for the day just sounds like a barrel of laughs–and very comfortable!
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by! 😀
It is sort of like a dream come true, except its just about Christmas and I’m not sure if I will be well enough to partake in any of the fun….
I would want to be Kim’s cushion for the day…

Lily! You’ve got freckles! They make you look gorg.
Can I touch them?
Yep! Freckles galore! Thanks Michael! I like them. You can touch them if you like, just be careful that you don’t smudge your computer screen… 😉
YES, there is a smile. 🙂 Her personality and charm shine, so I’m grabbing some sun tan lotion so I can safely browse around and handle all the Lily sunshine! Thanks for sharing. Recently followed your blog and get a kick out of “getting hooked” in my inbox. Happy holidays to you and yours! Best, Christine
Thanks for the compliment Christine! The Hook is an awesome blogger–I’m glad you followed him! Hope you have a great holiday season!
Oh, Hook! I’m feeling the love. Lily has always been my ray of sunshine. Always. She cracks me up. That’s not to say she can’t be a little mean and snarky… I think she saves evil Lily for me, her mom. But seriously. She is my joy.
Thanks for writing a splendid little tribute to our girl. Flattery may be the fastest way to her head and heart! Lol! Just kidding. She’s the real deal. I love her madly and have been blessed to have her in my life. Thanks for singing her praises!! She deserves the very best. Thanks Hook!!!
Thank you, Mom of Lily, for stopping by and for your continued support.
Let me know if you want to take part in 5×5, all right?
Thanks momma girl! You’re the best. I’m lucky to be surrounded by so many admirers!
I loved this all the way up to the end. Kim Kardashian? Duuuuuuuude I just wish she would jump off a cliff and make everyone happy. Stick to X-Men they are so much cooler. I’m sure they have a chick in there with some extra cushion. 🙂
Yeah I feel the same way. Kim is just so ridiculous though. I do love my xmen…I think if I had to choose, I would be Jean Grey. The power to read minds would come in very handy.

I love it when everybody wins, don’t you?
Lily is absolutely sunshine! Loved her Siri post…thanks Hook, for getting me hooked on yet another awesome blogger!
Sorry it took me so long to get to this one. It kind of got lost in the days long power outage. I’m pretty sure I’ll be reading a lot more Lilly.
