To suggest I’ve been blessed in my life would be an understatement.
Just look at how the All-Mighty Creator has shown his favor for The Hook…
- I’m white. Unfortunately in our world that means I’ve been spared millions of ugly encounters and looks. Its sad but true.
- I’m male. Again, this is a definite advantage in our unbalanced world.
- Height and so-so good looks are mine to enjoy. Let’s face it, being short can suck. The less said about my looks, the better…
- I seem to possess a modicum of literary talent. Again, the less said the better…
- I have a loving family and loyal friends.
And now we’re at the center of all this self-evaluation; my greatest blessing of them all…
I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL, GIFTED DAUGHTER.
It feels like yesterday, but it was over a decade ago that you came into our lives and made us realize just what living truly was. And you’ve been spreading the joy – and in my case, the occasional ribbing – ever since!
Sarah came in third in her piano recital this morning and it was a two-fold accomplishment; she overcame her butterflies and self-doubt AND she played beautifully. I wasn’t there; unfortunately, as ever, duty called.
I hope Sarah spends the day feasting on her accomplishments; she deserves the ego boost. Enjoy the following images, kiddo, you done good.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Congratulations, well done, and Rock On, Sarah!
Thanks! We both appreciate the support!
Congratulations to you and your family, especially talented Sarah!!!
Thanks, Sherrie! Sarah appreciates all the good wishes!
Daughters! They’re the cat’s meow aren’t they? 🙂
You said it!
What an awesome day! Congrats to you both! 🙂
Sarah gets all the credit on this particular victory day!
Nice one !!
Sarah – my muse – deserves all the credit!
Right on brother!
Thanks! I don’t know what else to say…
Well done Sarah…..even if your dad is tall and ugly. (his words.)
Hey!!!
Congrats! Your daughter sounds like a real gem! It’s nice to count your blessings when you’ve been given so much, right? Someone is definitely smiling down on you!
Definitely!
Conrats Sarah! You rock that piano!
I’m happy for you and her Hook! I’m sure she feels blessed to have you for a dad too.
I hope so! And we’re both lucky to have VampireLover on our lives as well!
Yes, she sounds awesome.
Isn’t it amazing that no matter what awesome stuff you accomplish on your own in life, what your kids accomplish fills you with exponentially more pride! Congrats!
Yes, my daughter fill my heart with pride!
Send my congratulations to Sarah!
Consider it done!
Kids really are great, aren’t they?
They sure are! She makes me smile every day…
That’s awesome! I know you must be a proud daddy! 🙂
Every single day!
Congrats to the kiddo!!! She too is a very blessed individual … She has HOOK DNA. It’s only a matter of time before she hits the “note” of 1st place. And YOU? You by far sound like an awesome block to be chipped from. You and your words are indeed a global blessing.
THANKS for sharing your view. I dig it & I’m still “HOOKED”! (-:
Likewise!
Go, Sarah! It’s lovely when our offspring get over fears. Like fear their mother is going to write something embarrassing about her. Oops. I’m projecting.
Go right ahead, Leanne!
Give Sarah my congratulations…which if she is anything like my kiddywinkles will ellicit the response: ‘You put it ON YOUR BLOG ??? Why ???’
And remember the reason she is so grounded is that she has you and VL behind her cheering her on and she knows it !!!!
She is from good stock, its true… But her accomplishments – and her winning personality – are her own!
they are…but they still need the solid platform GOOD parents provide to stand on Hook…of THAT you can be proud !!!
I suppose you’re right…
Oh and so loving Cas up here…oh yes I am.
🙂
I figured you would…
I’ve been missing Cas…so missing Cas…thank you !!!!! Now a pic of Baby would really make my day.
I’m pretty sure Cas comes back to see the Boys in two episodes – whenever they finally air the next two episodes!
But where is Baby ????
😦
😦

😦
You’re on your own! This is Sarah’s post!
yeees! Our world it’s terribly unbalanced but CONGRATS!!!
Thanks, Lynn!
Great job Sarah. Piano is hard. Playing in front of audience – really scary. All your hard work paid off. Congrats! ( And a pat on the back for mom and dad who played a supporting role)
Mom and Dad thank you!
Thank you for all you great comments (btw – this is Sarah writing) 🙂
Congratulations Sarah.. I’ve never met you but if your dad says you’re talented I know this must be very true!!!
It is, most definitely!
Aw! Congrats to Sarah, and thanks to you for the happy mistiness being experienced in the region of my eyes right now. Love like this is a treat to witness, however we may.
You’re very welcome, Deborah. Thank you for enriching my life as well.
Congratulations! And how is that book of yours coming along, Mr. Hook, eh? 😉
The cover is 99% done and the interior needs a little more tweaking. Beyond that, the administrative details – the IRS paperwork, bank accounts for royalties, etc – are really holding me back! But I’ll get there – and soon!
L’gradne sigho….. Cas. What was your blog post about again?
Oh yeah!!! Right!!! Way to go Little The Hook!!! Learning piano is easy compared to learning to get over the butterflies. Keep going on, practice your public speaking and your public performances now. It is a trait that is not really being taught anymore and something all professionals must work at, and it is so very much easier to learn to overcome the butterflies when you are younger than when you are older.
Congrats on placing third!!! And rib your dad as much as you can for as long as you can.
Don’t worry, she will!
Awesome!! Congrats Sarah! 😀
Sarah thanks you – and Daisy!
Congratulations to Sarah. Enjoy every minute of her growing up as the time goes by swiftly. Soon you will be looking back asking where did time go?
She tries not to think about the swift passage of time…
Wonderful — The intro was gripping…This was a nice tribute to your daughter.
She deserves it, Derek!
Well done Young Hooklet!
Young Hooklet? I love it!
Well done to Sarah!!! 🙂
Sarah thanks you!
Well done, congrats and all the kudos to you Sarah!
Sarah sure appreciates all the good wishes – as do I!
Congratulations! You can now forget about sleep for the next 2 years, and start preparing your answers to questions like, “Daddy, what did that Adult Toy sign on that store mean?”
Thanks for that thought!
I love interacting with proud parents. All too often in today’s world we only hear about bad parents. You obviously are not in that category. Congrats to Sarah. And enjoy all the moments Hook.
I intend to!
You are a blessed man, Mr. Hook. How proud you are! What a gift you are to your daughter – she will continue to flourish and grow in your loving-ness … erm (you know) …
I feel lucky just knowing you (as it is) … you have the vibe of “good human”. Rock on!!!
Your vibrations rock as well!
Congratulations with your daughter’s achievement. Sounds wonderful. Like father, like daughter – as the saying goes. Your post is a beautiful serenade to your daughter. I can really feel your pride, and I love it. And yes, a little self-indulgence too, but that’s OK. You are indeed lucky – or blessed, as you say, and it’s good to acknowledge it. Best regards.
Best regards to you as well.
Wünsche dir lieber Hook ein schönes weekend Grüsse dich Herzlich Gislinde.
Thank you for the good wishes, young lady!
Well done to you Hook and to you VampireLover…
We all know that it takes a little village (or two very good parents) to produce success…
Well done Sarah; may you enjoy your success and have many such adventures to look forward to… 😉
Sarah thanks you… she’s a fan of your work!
Good Evening.. by Simona 🙂
Thank you for the visit, young lady!
